Jared Washington, LPC
Jared was born and raised in Roselle, NJ. He received his Bachelor’s of Art in Psychology with a minor in African American studies in 2011 from Ramapo College of New Jersey. After receiving his Bachelor’s, Jared decided to relocate to Atlanta, GA where he received his Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Jared is a Licensed Professional Counselor has over 10 years of experienced in the Mental Health field. He has worked in various clinical environments such as, Psychiatric hospitals, insurance providers, foster care agencies, county jails, community mental health agencies and private practice. Jared has participated in various panels, speaking engagements and TV shows discussing mental health, systematic oppression and social justice.
Jared is committed to working with diverse populations such as adolescents and adults dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, stress management, substance abuse, racial identity and trauma, life transitions, trauma and men’s issues. Jared specializes in intergenerational and racial trauma and ways to cope with and manage on a day to day basis.
Jared utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as his primary theoretical approach. He firmly believes that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors intermingle with each other. If we can work on influencing that triad through cognitive restructuring than we can truly begin our journey through life.
Jared has a passion for helping others reach their full potential. He thoroughly believes in starting the healing process and helping others develop and maintain stability in order to become your best self.
Healing Outreach Purpose and Empowerment LLC is a unique private practice offering psychotherapy services to adolescents and adults battling mental illness throughout the metro Atlanta area. We specialize in treating individuals and communities who struggle with trauma, racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, depression, bipolar d/o, stress management substance abuse, racial identity, life transitions and men’s issues.
